Gorge trip 2k19

On Thursday the 26th of September Swl and half of mnl and Lst went to Otaki Gorge. When we first got there we got split into groups. My group was a bunch of boys and Taipari. Our first thing we had to do was making a fire and collect dry sticks. Then we had to make a fire using rocks and matches. We roasted marshmallows they were good. Our next thing we had to go this this place where we got put into two groups and had two tapolins and had to make shelter in a certain way. Our group won becau
se the boys were mucking  around. Then we had to get sticks to make spears. That failed. Then we went back and had food and started to make our boast with sticks and had a race down the river. Mine and taiparis won because the other kids boat hit a rock. Then we played capture the flag. It was yr 7/8 vs adults and yr 12s. Then we went back to school around 2:00 oclock. Then we just chilled in class. 

This is Week in class we worked on Investigation and how we were to represent that data.

Week 9 Term 3 relecftion

1) I have enjoyed eating on the courts.
2) I have enjoyed working. no lie
3) I have learned how to use Nz grapher.
4) I want to learn more about statistics.
5) I am looking forward to going home and the holidays.

A long walk to water

1) Nyas dad was referring to she cant guess as in she doesn't know that her father was building a school. She thought it was gonna be a well or something smaller not a school. Now they are building the school she doesn't have to walk a long way.

2) Salvas home in south Sudan was different because there they didn't have much water and electricity. They have dirt roads and lived in houses built with sticks. His home now in Rochester has water where you can get it from taps. They also have televisions phones and concrete roads with thousands of cars on the roads.

3) Salva visited his dad and wanted to see his mother and sisters but his father said he cant go there because there is still war. If he goes the men will force him to go in there Battle and will probably die.

4) Water is hard to find in south Sudan. He built the well in his village. But they rule is that everyone can water not just the village that it was built in. So i think the well bring people together because now that everyone can have water not just a village 

Week 8 term 3 relection

I have enjoyed the trip on Tuesday , El rancho.
I have learned my mode medium range and that in maths.
I am grateful for school and my friends.
I want to work on my maths next time we do it.

On the 10th of the September swl mnl and sol went to el rancho in waikanae. We got split into 7 groups with at least 12 people in it. First we went to the gun shooting where we had to shot targets through a long rubber tunnel, while we were waiting we played games it was fun because we had a small group and it was easy because i knew everyone in the group.

After that we had morning tea and we ate and played on the park, Then we walked over to this goat that was there and started to pat it and it keep bucked us in the knees it was sore. Then we had to go to our next subject which was kayaking and first i had to get changed. Then we had to do some rules and what not to do.Then we got pushed in and played Frisbee and tag and we got a little bit wet. Then we had to get in a line and hold each others kayaks and introduce our self. We spotted eels and wanted to touch them but then they never came out. The water was brown ish colour


After that i tried to stand up but then i feel in and the ground was really muddy and soggy. Then i jumped in one more time , the water was cold . Then we had lunch and played rugby, I had lunch and sat down with a group of people ( boys ) we had lunch and all shared our stuff cause we all bring big bags of stuff and i gave my food to my friend cause he was hungry.

The last thing we did was archery, We went through some rules and stuff which not to do . And we got 6 shots each . We were aiming for the target and this black and green ball. I got them both and then we went back to school and waited for the bell to ring! it was a fun day

Week 7 Term 3 refection

1) I have enjoyed writing because we did a recount.
2) What i have learned this week is calculating statistics.
3) I am looking forward to the trip on Tuesday.
4) I am grateful for school because I need to work when im older
5) I want to work on work on being fast in maths.
